6 Simple Ideas to Have a Better Day Tomorrow
From a small book found in London 10 years ago
When I was around 10 years I went on a trip to London with my parents, and my mom bought me a little book that has literally become my life bible. I get back to it every time I lack inspiration in my content, when I’m feeling down, or simply when I want to read great quotes by some of the greatest minds in human history. The book is called Keep Calm and Carry On.
“Keep Calm and Carry On” was one of three posters produced by the British Government’s Ministry of Information on the eve of war in 1939. It would be distributed only in the imminent threat of German invasion. The poster series was printed 2.5 million times in preparation for the worst, but it thankfully never saw the light of day, and almost the entire production went to the bin.
Years later, a bookseller from central UK found an old copy of the poster in a box of old books he had bought at an auction. He liked the poster so much he hung it up in his store, and after dozens of customers asked him about it, he decided to start selling his own copies of it. The bookshop went on to sell tens of thousands of posters, not to mention mugs, T-shirts, tea towels and more.
Then the financial crisis of 2007–2008 hit, and the “Keep Calm and Carry On” motto gained…
